Paramedical 3d Areola Tattooing
Transforming Scars, Transforming Lives, One Drop of Ink at a Time
What Is Areola Tattooing?
Areola tattooing is a highly specialized art form designed to restore the natural appearance of the areola and nipple, often after breast surgery. The 3D technique creates realistic results, helping individuals regain confidence and a sense of wholeness. This craft requires not only artistic skill but also genuine passion and empathy from the artist.

What to Expect
The Tattoo Process

-
Consultation:
Review artist portfolios and prepare questions in advance. Please have consulted with your Doctor ahead of time, and bring any/all references with you. Consultations are generally from 30 minutes-1 hour. You will sit with the artist and go over all details about the process.
-
Color selection:
Colors are blended to match your natural skin tones and chosen by the artist. You can dictate if you would like it darker, lighter, pinker, browner, etc.
-
Session duration:
2–3 hours for two 3D areolas (with no complications).
-
Sensation:
Most people have little or no sensation after breast surgery. If you take medication to relax, please arrange for a driver.
-
Healing time:
Generally, 10–14 days, with bandages worn for the first 5 days and no radiation.-
14-28 days if there is scarring thru the tattoo.
-
14-120 days if radiation has been done in the area of the tattoo.
-
-
Second session:
The tattoo must be healed from the first session before we can pursue the second. Both appointments will be scheduled in most cases at the same time. Radiation and extreme scarring would be what extends this time, as longer healing time is required before we can open the skin again.
Healing, Exposure, & Aftercare Notes
-
Ideal healing:
No scarring or radiation in the tattoo area.
-
Scarring:
Scar tissue heals differently and may require additional sessions.
-
Radiated skin:
Healing can take longer and may affect color results.
-
Medical considerations:
If you have a radiation seed or are undergoing chemotherapy, notify your artist. Immune-compromising medications can slow healing, and radiation seeds can expose the artist to minimal amounts when the skin is broken—consult your doctor first before proceeding.
-
Timing:
Wait at least six months after your last surgery before scheduling tattooing, even if there is no visible scarring, (but let’s get the consult set and any pre-authorizations prior too).
-
Aftercare:
It will be bandaged, keeping it protected during the hardest healing time, providing you have no allergies to adhesions. This speeds up the process and assures the best outcome.-
